Aubaine, Selfridges

Sunday, October 6, 2013

Our welcome in London was made just perfect when we headed to a small French restraurant for some tea and pastries at Aubaine. Right at Oxford Street, it was such a nice way to spend the afternoon after a tiring day of walking and shopping for memory foam pillows, gloves and invisible socks amongst other things.

Melvin treated En Leang and I to tea and it was such a surreal feeling to be having tea in London! It has always been a dream to do these kinds of posh things as opposed to tea in Malaysia which is often kuih and maybe some keropok lekor.

Bright and airy!

Our tea!

We shared a Nutella tart which was ridiculously good! You’d expect something like this to be hard but the crust crumbled away nicely and the filling inside was smooth and soft! Definitely exceeded my expectations because it really does look very unassuming.

And I had the best scones I’ve ever tasted there!

It was buttery and warm and came with such delicious authentic jam that I would willingly eat the jam by the spoonfuls! And I normally am not a big fan of jam.

All in all, it was an excellent place to just relax and have good conversation with good company. Not exactly the easiest on the pocket, but for the ambience? Let’s just make it a once in a while thing and it should be fine. Smile with tongue out

With the elephant outside LSE’s Student Services Centre!

And for those wondering about LSE, I haven’t started lectures yet but I think it’s a gorgeous place to be! I love the environment and how close to the city it is! There’s always something happening and I can’t see myself getting bored. Have loads more to share but I’m off to a picnic and a church tour. Smile Will keep you guys posted! Open-mouthed smile
